Photo Upload Options
Requirements
(A) Upload up to 60 photos at a time
(B) Maximum 10 MB per photo and 100 MB per upload for Premium service / 3 MB per photo and 30 MB per upload for free service
(C) Photo must be in JPG, GIF, or BMP format. TIFF and PSD format are also accepted in the ActiveX version (using Microsoft Internet Explorer) *
Upload Methods: 'Express' versus 'Original Resolution'
All travelers may use the
Express Upload. This method allows your photos to be uploaded faster because your local computer converts each photo to a smaller 'Internet Optimized' format BEFORE uploading. The smaller file size uploads faster, but they are rarely suitable for good quality prints.
Premium subscribers may instead use the
Original Resolution Upload. The
Original Resolution Upload allows you to save and retrieve your photos in their original size and quality. To minimize upload times, adjust your camera's settings (or your image processing software settings) to find the quality you will need for later printing (and not higher). Limiting your file size in this way will give you the best of both worlds - reasonable upload speeds and good printable photos. And we will also create a computer-quality version to display quickly to your visitors.
In all cases, actual upload times will also depend on a number of other factors such as your internet connection speed, your ISP's hardware and load on our servers.
Photo uploading is done by a component made by Aurigma, Inc. The first time you use it, you will be asked to accept Aurigma's software as an online application on your computer. You may also need to adjust your browser's security settings to allow it.
Classic Upload
If your browser or computer settings do not let you use the Aurigma applet, you can select the 'Classic Upload' option. You will be limited to 10 photos per upload, and no express upload is available. This option does not require using the Aurigma software.
* You can also post photos in TIFF, PDF, PSD, PICT, JP2, SGI, QTIF, TGA formats in addition to JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP formats by using our "Classic Uploader".
