Mediterranean Melodies

Judy and Herman travel blog
Welcome to our latest Trip Journal. Writing a journal while touring around Europe has become a must for us now because we get so much enjoyment from revisiting the journals when we get back home—it is amazing as to how many little incidents and feelings get forgotten but relived when looking back at the journals.
This journal’s title is ‘Mediterranean Melodies’ as this 8 week holiday sees us skirting and cruising upon that sea. After our flight from Australia via Singapore we start our tour in Barcelona then 7 days later we will pick up a car to drive to the Vendee region of France, where we will be staying with our friend Peter for 7 days. While there we will have 2 visits to Puy-Du-Fou--check it out on the net. This time while at his place instead of seeing photos of ‘Schelvis and Wynands-Master Plumbers' in action it will be a case of ‘Wynands, Wynands and Schelvis-Painters and Decorators'it could remind you a bit of 'The Three Stooges'
Then we head down to the South of France with stops in Sarlat-le-Caneda, Carcassonne and Avignon. Our next stop Saint-Jean-de Maurienne is high up in the French Alps (Tour de France territory) then on to Trezzonne--Lake Como for another week--It is a hard life isn’t it? We then drive to Venice where we will board the 'MSC Armonia' for a seven day cruise around the Greek Islands. Followed by a quick dash across Italy to Livorno to board the 'MSC Sinfonia' for another seven day cruise on the Western Mediterranean calling in to Monaco, Valencia, Ibiza, Tunisia, Catania and Naples from where we will take a ferry to Capri. Four more days in Monterosso-al-Mare, Chinque-Terre will bring this odyssey to an end.
We hope to get lots of input from everyone back home and we also hope that you will get some enjoyment from our travels around the Globe.
