Enhanced Personal Travel Website Meets Travelers' Demand for 'Life Caching'

Blogging while you travel has pretty much replaced the postcard as a means for keeping in touch. However, according to Dan Parlow, co-founder of award-winning MyTripJournal.com, travelers have increasingly demanded a way to archive multiple trips for life, a phenomenon known as 'life caching'.

"When we first conceived of MyTripJournal", Parlow explained, "we designed it to record the 'trip of a lifetime', with highly customized mapping, ability to upload stories, photos and movies, friends' update system and permanent archiving. Over time, it became apparent that many users viewed their travels as a continuing lifetime experience."

To address that need, MyTripJournal and its online partners, including Lonely Planet, the Good Sam Club and the International Student Identity Card (US), have just launched the new hub of the Personal Travel Website, My Travel Homepage (http://www.mytripjournal.com/mytravelhomepage ).

My Travel Homepage provides travelers with an integrated solution to link their Trip Journals for life. It includes consolidated mapping through the proprietary MyTripJournal IntelliMap system, central guestbook access and a host of other features.

Among the first travelers to activate a My Travel Homepage are Hannah and Joe Dubuc of Edmond, Oklahoma: http://mytripjournal.com/dubucjh . "As full-time RV'ers, we love the ability MyTripJournal.com provides for our friends and family to join us virtually along the way. The new My Travel Homepage now links all our trips together, making it easy for our loved ones to follow us on our trips and keep in touch as we travel," said Ms. Dubuc.

Under MyTripJournal's new subscription-based system, travelers can create unlimited new Trip Journals as well as having renewed access to previously closed Journals.

MyTripJournal, named by Forbes as one of the 13 Best Travel Sites on the Web, was developed in 2003 by Vancouver-based world adventurers Dan and Faye Parlow, in concert with software developers Paul Melhus and Dave Vincent.

In addition to the new My Travel Homepage, unique features of the MyTripJournal system include its highly customized IntelliMap system, the ability to post unlimited personal videos, to store thousands of print-quality photos and to receive a full archive on CD or DVD.

Every travel experience has two parts: first you DO then you TELL. With MyTripJournal.com you can do and tell at the same time, and cherish those memories forever.
