Finally, after waiting for years,Jeff has received his insulin pump.

It came to Adam's house, and of course, he wasn't able to put it in right away since he had to wait for the training. He read all the instructions and even went through a self-tutorial on the internet so he was really ready and motivated. The Medtronic representative and the diabetic nurse were quite impressed how quickly he was able to grasp the intricacies of the device.

It is programmed to deliver a small amount of insulin all the time. At mealtimes, he still has to check his blood glucose, but no syringes are necessary. The pump not only wirelessly receives his blood glucose meter readings, but he only has to put in the amount of carbs he will be eating and the device automatically tells him how much insulin to take. He then only pushes a button and the insulin is injected.

We can only imagine how much better Jeff would be today if he had had one of these much earlier in his diabetic career.
