Back to Hannibal
Sep 25, 2010
|Last night, after taking showers and putting our PJ’s on, we enjoyed a very quiet and peaceful evening. We watched a little TV and went to bed early. We read our books for awhile but soon fell asleep and had a great night of sleep.
It was 6:30 this morning when we awoke, and that is pretty late for me.
We took our time with coffee and enjoyed the brisk autumn air.
It was a few minutes after 9:00 this morning when we pulled out of the campground.
The wind wasn’t nearly as strong as it was yesterday and our fuel mileage reflected that as we saw 10.8 mpg for the trip today.
We rolled into the Mark Twain Cave Campground right at 12:30 and were set up in an hour.
We then drove to the AT&T Store to pick up my new cell phone. Guess what! It has not arrived yet, so we’ll check with them to see if it is in on Monday.
I fueled the truck at Walmart at a cost of $2.769 per gallon. That is much lower than the $3.149 we paid at the last place we filled up. That happened to be in Illinois, at the first town after crossing the Illinois / Indiana border.
We shopped for a few groceries and made a stop at Taco Bell to pick up some soft-shell tacos to take home.
We have the RV pretty much in order now and can relax for the rest of the evening.
We will baby-sit on Monday and Tuesday but we hope we get to see those grandkids tomorrow.
It is nice to be back in Hannibal for awhile.
