Texas Longhorn Herd at Ranch on FM 202

This morning I went to the country home of A J and Evelyn Gallerano near Johnson City to take photographs. What a beautiful place! It is very rugged and has the lovely Yeager Creek running through it. Their house is built high on the bluff above the creek. They have a wonderful view of the countryside. Of course, I went nuts with my camera!

From their house, I drove to the nearby Pedernales State Park in hopes of getting some wildflower photos. To my disappointment, there were none except for a very small patch beside the park headquarters building. Because of the large number of visitors to the park, I decided just to return to Austin. I’ll visit the park on a week day when there will be fewer visitors.

STATS Route: US 290 W => FM 202 N => continuing on FM 202 N => RR 2766 E => FM 3232 N to the state park => returning on FM 3232 S => US 290 E back to Austin
