Beale Street - B B King's Blues Club

This morning we headed to Memphis, Tennessee to the Elvis Presley Boulevard RV Park. It is just down the street from Graceland. What we didn't know until we reached the RV park is that this is Elvis Presley Week commemorating the 30th anniversary of his death. That means, of course, that everything was very crowded. We had intended to visit Graceland but decided that we didn't love Elvis enough to stand outside for four hours in 108-degree heat just to buy a ticket!

We did go to the riverfront section, where we walked around Beale Street a little. We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and then took a Duck tour of the historic section. It was fun.

When we had returned to the RV park, Jan received word that her daughter and some of her grandchildren had been in an automobile accident, which totaled the car. None of them were seriously injured but Jan is really worried about them. The driver of the other car was high on drugs and had fled the scene. She was caught not long afterwards and is now in jail.
