We got an early start this morning after spending a very quiet night behind the Costco in Orem, Utah. We traveled US Hwy 189 to I-40 and eventually hit I-80 as we made our way to Rawlins, Wyoming. Went through the pretty little town of Heber City and wow, did it bring back some good memories. It was one of our first stops as full time RV'ers back in 2006. We were such newbies. We'd traveled wayyyy too long that day arriving after dark and wound up over nighting at the curb of a really cute little city park. I can't believe the cops didn't come run us off!

We whizzed past the pretty Jordanelle Reservoir and once again experienced some great memories! We've enjoyed camping at Jordanelle in the past and it is a large, lovely lake. Tough to get a good pic at 60+mph, sorry about that! Bridal Veil Falls was nice as usual and there were numerous guys fly-fishing the river. The whole area was very green and lush, must have had a great winter snow. If we weren't so anxious to get to Custer we'd have stopped overnight in Green River and done the Flaming Gorge loop again. Never tire of it's beauty.

Now I have to whine just a bit okay? They have been working on I-80 for the past 9 years!!! Yep, it never changes. Perhaps the weather wears the pavement out more than normal? It's constant maintenance for sure. I'd love to avoid it but then we'd miss seeing my aunt, uncle & cousins, so guess we'll just suck it up, lol! It's certainly the most convenient travel route. And we love watching the trains. And there are a bunch of them! So between the trains, the clouds & the scenery we had a nice day. In between the 'single lanes' & trucks that is, lol!

We arrived at the RV World Campground in Rawlins, Wy around 5:30 PM and were set up quickly. Not a Passport America park but they did give us a senior discount. Sometimes this aging thing comes in handy! Went ahead & went downtown to find fuel so we wouldn't have to mess with it later while we were hooked up. Sometimes it's tough to get under the awnings at the stations in small towns. Came home, had a light dinner, watched a little TV & then hit the sack. So, that's it for now. We'll head out tomorrow for Casper & plan to spend one night at Fort Caspar Campground. So we'll see you on down the road and thanks for stopping by :)
