Last one!

Today we checked out of the Victor Hotel and drove about 7 miles over to Cripple Creek. We shopped at the Sugar Plum Gift Shop and the Christmas Bazaar and bought a few ornaments with painted donkeys. The theme for the Christmas celebration is "Gold Camp Christmas Donkeys," and everything from the parade to the holiday Butte Theater show featured Christmas donkey friends! We have not seen a single donkey on the streets yet, but have been told they have a lot of them roaming the town. :-)

We were happy to find the perfect parking place right on Bennett Street to watch the awesome parade. They had free s'mores and marshmallows roasting on an open fire, and free hot chocolate and cider. We enjoyed the parade and the shopping much. It was well worth the trip and spending the night to see it. Check back later for more from Colorado.
