Last one!

We visited the Miramont Castle in Manitou Springs today. We did our own walking tour of the castle. It is over 14,000 square feet with 42 rooms. It took us a while to see all the rooms, it was amazing.

The castle was still fully decorated for Christmas exactly as it would have been in Victorian times with authentic Victorian furnishings. They also have the Queen’s Parlour Tea Room where you can feast on Victorian (and modern day) fare made fresh daily. We had already stopped for lunch in Manitou at the Stagecoach Inn, so we passed this time.

The castle was built in 1895 by Father Jean Baptiste Francolon as a home for himself and his mother. It features nine styles of architecture and was designed by Father Francolon himself. I will be posting more pictures with information for you to read about the castle.

They also had a Fire Department Museum Exhibit. I will be adding a second update just for the Fire Department photos. I had a hard time getting great photos inside the castle. Some rooms were too light and some dark. I am adding the best ones as a walk through tour for everyone to see. Please excuse the poor quality photos. I hope you enjoy the tour.
