Leaving Ely this morning, traveling on US 6...Lovely view!

We get pretty good fuel mileage in this area as it's all...

The desert is starting to come alive with color. You can see...

The loneliest highway in America????

One of the many snowbirds we passed along our way...

Sorry to post a pic of this area again but I always...

A quick shot of the Las Vegas downtown area as we fly...

I LOVED watching these clouds as we made our way on I-95...

Saturday was a beautiful day to travel as we made our way home from Ely. We traveled US Hwy 6 to Nevada 318 to I-15 to I-95. The snow capped mountains were lovely as were the puffy white clouds. I do love my clouds!!!

We were amazed at the number of snowbirds we passed heading north. In case you don't know what a snowbird is, they are RV'ers who reside in the colder parts of the United States, and many Canadians as well, who head south to escape winter conditions each & every year. The most popular areas are Yuma, Casa Grande, Tuscon & Phoenix. When we camped just outside of Yuma in March for a week dealing with dental & eyeglasses, 90% of the folks we met were from Canada.

The snowbirds fill up the Ely campgrounds at this time of the year quickly as it is a good halfway stopping point to many areas. Fortunately, we are able to park at Mom's with water & power and a dump site nearby. There is a free dumpsite at one of the gas stations of Great Basin that we take advantage of every trip. Saves Larry from using the Blue Boy which is always nice.

Our time with Mom went by so quickly, as did the whole month. Are you guys noticing that time really seems to be flying these days? Monday was Lil Larry's 43rd birthday! Now where did all of that time go????? Anyway, we had a nice dinner here at the house for him as we wanted to share in his special day, on that exact day. It's hard to see them on the weekends as they are working hard to finish the remodeling on their new house so they can finally get moved in. Hopefully that will happen in the next two weeks. But, more on that later.

We're here until the first of the month, taking care of our annual physicals, vet appointment, haircuts etc. And, it seems Bank of America is closing down some of their smaller branches, including one of ours, so we have to get transitioned into a new bank. Anyone had any experience with Washington Federal? If so, a little feedback would be appreciated.

Larry also worked on our taxes yesterday so I think that chore is finally completed. He put a form in front of me late yesterday & said "sign here" so that usually means he's done, lol! Well, that's all the 'boring stuff' I have to report on for now. Hope your lives are all going smoothly and continue to do so. We sure feel lucky to be living ours, at least most of the time :) Have a great day...
