I finally have the computer back, after spending $82 for a new keyboard and installation, I am back in business. The hardest part was waiting days for the keyboard to arrive. I have a lot of catching up to do, please be patient with e-mails etc.
We visited Cripple Creek for the awesome Ice Festival. The festival theme for 2012 is “Military Salute Carved in Ice.”
It was incredible! They even had a ice slide for the kids. The town was packed. We have never seen so many people in Cripple Creek. It was hard to get pictures without people in them, so I just went for it and took them with the folks enjoying the carved slide and more. It was outstanding and well worth the drive to see it.
We also drove the Gold Camp Road drive. I will try to do another update on it later if I have time. We had hoped to visit the Helen Hunt Falls, but it was so slippery with ice, it was not worth the risk. The drive was beautiful anyway and we enjoyed it much.
We will be leaving Colorado soon, March 1st. We have enjoyed every minute in this awesome state, and have been totally spoiled with our campsite at Mountaindale. We will miss our new friends at Mountaindale and our new pets. We have deer we have named and the owner's dog has become our new dog. She comes by daily for treats. We will miss everyone much.
I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Check back later for more from Colorado.
