My old Hewlett Packard printer started giving me trouble last week and I kept trying to resolve the issue, to no avail. It kept giving an error message saying that the yellow ink cartridge was damaged and should be replaced. I went through all the troubleshooting steps three times and it still gave the error message. Today I took the printer to Office Depot to see whether a technician could help me. He said that the printhead was the problem and that it would cost more to replace it than the printer was worth. (Where have I heard that before?) It was four years old so I wasn’t surprised.
I ended up buying a new printer that is smaller than the old one. The tech recommended an Epson WF-2630 All-in-One, based on my needs. The happy news was that it was on sale and also that Epson inks are cheaper than the HP ones. The Epson inks are still priced out of sight, though.
