Day 91 Oludeniz to Pamukale to Fethiye

Up at 5.30 to get our bus tour leaving today at 6am from our hotel. Went on a coach tour for day to Pamukkale. These are called Cotton Castles in Turkish, it is the 8th wonder of the world. Like the pink and white terraces that were at lake Tarawera, it is pools of warm thermal water down the hillside over white rock, am sure you will have seen pictures of people bathing there. We had a 3 half hour bus trip with stops along the way to get there. A very amazing sight, and we walked through the pools. Was incredibly hot, the kids cooked espec jackson poor man. At this sight is also Hieriopolis, the ancient roman city. There still stands a theatre quite in tact from 300 yrs ago. We swam in the therapeutic waters of the Antique Baths. Quite unreal, the water has high ph and bubbles on your skin, and you swim amongst roman ruins of columns etc, it was Cleopatras roman bath.

We left the area and went for a buffet lunch then on to an onyx factory tour. And then the bus ride back. Not back to Oludeniz till 8 and then got taken to Fethiye to board our gulet boat the Lorelay, a 15 year old gulet boat 22 metres long, with 7 cabins on board. Our captain is Mehmet a nice man and a crew and cook. We have a large cabin up the front for the children each with our own bathrooms and ours is a separate double bed cabin. We met some of the people on the boat at midnight when we got back.
