We left Lavender RV Park about noon today and headed toward DFW. I was little worried about the weather as the forecast was for rain all day with heavy thunderstorms. There were also tornado touchdowns to the north and west of Dallas. Fortunately, there was only about 15 or 20 minutes of rain and no thunderstorms or tornado watches. We arrived at the Vineyards late in the afternoon. It's located in Grapevine, TX just north of DFW and right next to the airport. It's pretty nice located on Lake Grapevine. We have a site on the lake front that overlooks one of the bays and a marina that is full of sail boats. We'll be here for at least a week. I'd like to stay longer, but won't know until later in the week. Apparently some of the sites have flooded from all of the rain over the last couple of days and people had to be rearranged. We'll see.

On the way, I passed an overgrown junk yard full of VW Beetles, Microbuses, and a few Vanagons near Athens, TX. Looks like they are turning to rust waiting for some lovin' from Bug enthusiast to come along. It didn't look like anybody had been by in a long time.

I start work tomorrow, so I probably won't be posting any updates until Friday when Sue arrives. Stay tuned.
