Our trip from Spearfish to Custer State Park, SD was an easy 76 miles over good roads, though they turned a little windy as we got on highway 16A, the access to the park. We took the truck route around Rapid City so encountered very little traffic.

We are staying at the Game Lodge Campground inside the park which is at the entrance to the Wildlife Loop Road - very handy. We have 50 amps electric only but we arrived with empty waste tanks and we filled the fresh water tank before we left Elk Ridge Resort. Thankfully we have a fairly level site as our jacks are acting up again. The satellite was set up quickly and we have a strong 4G Verizon signal. As you can see in the pictures, the sites here are very large.

This is one of our favorite stops as driving the wildlife loop always results in seeing wildlife. We didn't see as much this stop in the fall as we did when we stopped here in May but the fall foliage made up for it!

It rained all weekend but that was OK as we just stayed in and watched football. Our Gators pulled a big upset of Mississippi so that was very gratifying!

We leave here tomorrow for Midland, SD along I-90 where we will only spend one night before continuing east.
