Last night when we were walking through the down of San Gimignano, we were stopped by about 5 vehicles winding their way through the skinny streets. These were not your everyday vehicles, these were crane like vehicles. We were watching in amazement at the abilities of the drivers to manuever this machinery. The shopkeepers and tourists alike were gapping. While we stood outside the restaurant we eventually ate it, the owner told Lori that it was for the "ding-dongs". He couldn't remember the word, bells. Later, we walked by the church at the top and sure enough, the equipment was set up, the town folks had pulled up lawn chairs and I believe there was quite a bit of gawking taking place while the operators "fixed the ding-dongs"!
