Heart of Alaska RV Caravan travel blog

This was not an exciting day. We drove north on Hwy 1 until we reached Hwy 97. We drove Hwy 97 north until we reached Prince George. We hit a lot of highway construction, but we didn’t have any long waits. We were still mostly in the Fraser River Valley but it became much wider as the river got smaller. We saw some farmland, a lot of trees, and many logging operations.

We drove right past our chosen RV Park. They are working on the highway out front and they have taken down the sign pointing to the park. We ended up maybe 10 miles beyond before we convinced ourselves that we must have missed it. Once we approached from the opposite direction, the signs were numerous.

We have a small wooded lot about 50 feet of dirt away from the main highway. It sure is noisy and exposed. Oh well, we learn to take the bad with the good. Our neighbors are a couple from Switzerland. They drove a rental RV over from Jasper and are headed to Prince Rupert and the ferry. We got to talk with them for a bit. They really thought the place was an overpriced dump. I didn’t think it was that bad.
