This morning as Carol was driving me to Sherman to get my last injection to my spine, I received a phone call from my friend, Wanda Beck, telling me that her niece, Tami Soderberg, had passed away in Pennsylvania. Tami was a college professor who had been to India a few years ago to teach. While there she was infected with a parasite. She had been taking drugs for the condition but had never completely recovered. Tami’s mother and two aunts are very close friends to me. We grew up together and, when we were children, we thought we were cousins.
