Venetian Mask

Today was a full day at Venice with a launch trip around the Venice lagoon with a stop to visit a famous Murano Glass factory . We were treated to a bit of glassblowing with the glassblower producing some amazing work in a few minutes. We decided to buy ourselves a small piece of glass work as a memento - fortunately it was going for half price..

Then it was a guided tour around the cnetre of Venice with the usual visit to a church. This one was amazing (San Marco) with huge amounts of marble and gold everywhere. I must admit Venice is am amazing place, full of character and is perhaps the place we have liked the best so far. We then headed off on a gondola trip, complete with a bottle of spumante :-).

After lunch it was up to us to do whatever we liked so we wandered the streets, slowly making our way back to catch a bus back tou our hotel. We spent a large amount of time looking at all the venetian masks - there were so many shops and stall selling them.

Both Robyn and I are still not feeling the best. I seem to have a chest infection with a damn cough that is being a bit difficult to eliminate...
