The nights are getting colder and we are covering as many miles and passing through as many locks each day as possible to get south! We have been sleeping with our propane heater in our stateroom and the door closed to keep cozy.
We experienced some nasty, rainy weather with winds of 65 mph so we had no choice but to stay put at the lock in Fulton for an extra day. I took advantage of the time and hitched a ride with a couple of boaters to the town of Utica to do some laundry. John and I explore the NY State Canal trail which winds along beside the canal through the scenic countryside. Currently under construction, the trail will cover 348 miles once completed.
