Sunrise in the park

Canada geese on the pond

The Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD

The Corn Palace

Here are a couple of trivia facts for you: We stopped at a truck stop to fill up with diesel this morning and found out that by law, all diesel in Minnesota is 2% soy. Also, DeSmet, SD is the home of Laura Ingells Wilder.

I took Blondie out early this morning and got a few pictures of sunrise. The only sounds were of chirping birds and geese. We also saw Canada geese on the pond. We continued west on I-90 and crossed into South Dakota. In Mitchell we went to see the Corn Palace and made a trip to Wal-Mart for supplies. The Corn Palace is decorated with native corn, grasses and grains of South Dakota. We are staying at the Belvidere East KOA just outside of the Badlands. We stayed here last year on our way back to Georgia. We are still ahead of the season and are finding a lot of places haven't opened yet. This campground doesn't really open until Apr. 15 but they are letting us stay overnight. We are in the Mountain Time Zone now. Next stop, Wyoming.
