|We arrived in Casa Grande about 3:30 yesterday and found our RV park easily. The office had closed at 3pm, but a camp host led us to a nice site and told us to go to the office and register ourselves. We paid for two nights until we have decided what our plans will be for this area. After setting up, we contacted our friends Gary and Lynne to let them know we would be over shortly. It was really good to see them again. We decided to check out the new Macayos for dinner (gee, isn't that a surprise!) Lynne made margaritas at the house to enjoy before dinner. So good! We spent the evening catching up on the last two years. Well, we caught up with some of the new things in their lives. It seems that all of you that follow this journal know most everything going on in ours. Gary and Lynne follow us faithfully, so there's not much to share with them.
Lynne invited us for breakfast this morning and she prepared quite the spread. I normally don't eat much breakfast, but it was truly delicious. Afterward we toured the city a bit, winding up in a neighboring town at Skydive Arizona. We found a nice shaded bench and watched several jumpers come in. There were folks there from China, Norway and many other countries. Larry wondered why they weren't jumping into the sky in their part of the world? Good question. But we enjoyed watching them, pros and novices alike. Some were really off their marks and landed into the bushes and off out in the desert! We also enjoyed watching a roadrunner and a pretty male sparrow that had nice markings. He and I had quite a chirping conversation. Too cute!
Back at the house we checked out a hummingbird nest in a tree in their backyard. Mama is sitting on two eggs in the teeniest little nest. She vacated long enough for me to get a nice photo. We didn't want to make her nervous so we didn't stay too long. Then Lynne showed me the new doll outfits she made. Her granddaughters have the new 'American Girl' doll. I understand they are the latest rage for young ladies. Her Little Red Riding Hood, witches garb, poodle skirts, pj's with robes and dresses are just too cute! I took pics to share with you ladies. I know you'll appreciate seeing them. They are wonderful. I'm sure her granddaughters just love them!
Later we decided to download the pics from my camera and discovered they needed a good photo editing program. That led to 3 hours of computer work installing a few new programs and tweaking things a bit. But Lynne seemed pleased when we were done. We ordered a pizza and made plans for tomorrow. At 9pm we said our good byes and made our way home, ready to get some rest for our day tomorrow. We are going to the Mesa Market in the morning and I think Larry and Gary are going to install our new window afterward. At least I hope so! Can't wait to see it.....
