|Woke up to a beautiful sunny Thanksgiving day. Not so warm, but sunny! The ovens been running all morning so it's nice and toasty inside anyway, lol! Mom and I have been quite busy preparing the traditional holiday feast and now it's time to sit back with our feet up for a couple of hours until it's time for 'the feed'. Can't wait, love this dinner and look forward to it each & every year....
And now, a bit of trivia for you:
Did you know that almost 400 years ago, after surviving their first winter at Plymouth, the Pilgrims celebrated a harvest feast to give thanks? And, are you aware that George Washington proclaimed the first National Day of Thanksgiving in 1789, and that Abraham Lincoln revived the tradition during the Civil War? Our Founders thanked the Almighty and humbly sought His wisdom and blessing. May we always live by that same trust, and may God continue to watch over and bless each and every one of you.
May you all share a warm and wonderful day with those you love...
