This morning I had a follow-up visit with my endocrinologist and was very happy with his report. My lab report showed improvement; none of the test results were flagged this time. He will no longer be accepting my insurance after next month, so I will either have to pay the full amount out of pocket for his office visits or find another endocrinologist who will accept my insurance. If I stay with him, it will cost me at least an additional $100, depending on what he does during the visit.
He told me that I will need to have a bone scan done by the end of the year and that I should never stop having the Prolia injections because, if I stop, my bones will lose the benefits that have accrued. He also told me that I should have another thyroid ultrasound done this autumn.
I was very surprised to see Rebecca Kohout, the Regent of my DAR chapter, come into the doctor’s office. We had a nice conversation about chapter plans. She is working on our next bus trip to La Grange in October. It should be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it even though I’ve been to La Grange a number of times in January each year with my Cen-Tex RV club because there will be some special activities that are not available to us during our rallies.
