We visited the incredible Devils Punch Bowl State Park today. This stretch of the Oregon Coast just keeps getting better and better. :-)
This one has a loop to walk around, first part of the loop is the huge bowl created by the collapse of the roof over two sea caves, then shaped by wave action.
We watched people walking all over inside the huge bowl. The waves could have splashed in at any time on these brave souls. It was low tide, but this area is known for having huge waves called "sneaker" waves that can come in anytime. I watched from a safe distance. :-)
After enjoying the bowl we walked on around the loop for more incredible views. We could see surfers below and one of the most beautiful beaches with waves crashing. At the end of loop is a very nice picnic area. Mo's is also right across from the picnic area. We have not tried their seafood yet, but plan to before leaving the area. They have locations all over Newport.
I will let the pictures tell the story. Check back later for more from the beautiful Oregon Coast.
