Dinner at the Hitching Post was awesome!!

The chef cooking our steaks

Last one..the incredible drive home..

We did a little side trip today, we drove about 50 miles to the town of Solvang, CA. Solvang offers more than 150 one-of-a-kind shops and is known as the “Danish Capital of America.”

We had hoped to take the Solvang Trolley Tour. The Solvang Trolley (also known as the Honen) is a historic wooden streetcar pulled by a pair of magnificent draft horses providing 25-minute guided tours around the village. It was not operating until later in the month.

We decided to do our own driving and walking tour. We had a great day and enjoyed this unusual town much. We highly recommend it, do not miss if you are in the area.

After enjoying Solvang, we had a special Mother's Day dinner in Buellton, CA. Jerry and Kim gave me a gift certificate for a steak dinner at the Hitching Post Restaurant. It was absolutely wonderful, thanks a million Jerry & Kim!

Our drive back home on 101 was filled with excitement. The coast of California is absolutely beautiful. Check back later for more from California.
