Today I was at church nearly all day; there were a lot of special activities. After our Bible class, we had a potluck lunch.
Then we viewed the film, “Is Genesis History?” Dr. Del Tackett, creator of “The Truth Project,” serves as guide, hiking through canyons, climbing up mountains and diving below the sea in interviews with over a dozen scientists and scholars, examining how the world intersects with Genesis. The goal of the film is to provide a positive case for Creation in six normal days, a real Adam and Eve, a global flood and a tower of Babel. The experts included biologists, astronomers, archeologists, physicist, Hebrew scholar and others. It was very interesting.
By then it was time to go back into the sanctuary for a concert by piano instructor, Dr. WeiWei Wang. She spoke about the spiritual journeys of the great composers, Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Brahms, and performed a selection of each composer’s work. The lecture-concert was free but a love offering was taken, with proceeds to be used toward the development of a piano lab for our Monterey Oaks School of Fine Arts (MOSOFA). Dr. Wang holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Miami. She began playing piano at age four!
