Marilyn & I were up early but did not make coffee. One of the benefits of staying at the Ameristar Casino is that they give you one free buffet breakfast at the Casino for each person, during your stay.

We decided to simply go to breakfast at the Casino and have breakfast there.

I took a quick shower and put on some clean clothing before we caught the free shuttle bus to the Casino.

Marilyn & I enjoyed a fine breakfast with our coffee and then rode the shuttle back to the RV.

We quickly prepared to leave, as I dumped the holding tanks and Marilyn prepared the inside.

We left the RV Park just a few minutes before 9:00 AM and drove east on I-20 to find the Natchez Trace Parkway.

We had just entered the Natchez Trace when a deer ran across the road in front of us. I slowed in case there might be more than one, but then we noticed a small brown dog chasing the deer. The dog stopped short of the highway but we beeped the horn anyway.

We love to travel this road. It is only two lane blacktop but has no stop signs or stop lights at all, does not allow any commercial traffic, which means no big trucks, and has a 50mph speed limit.

We love the scenery on this trip and the history is important and interesting. There are many places where you may pull over to read a plaque which tells the story of what happened at this particular location.

Marilyn & I decided to stop at a place called French Camp which is very unique. You may read about it on the internet.

We ate a delicious lunch in an old log cabin, complete with a fireplace keeping things warm.

By the way, the temperature this morning was 52 degrees and it only increased to 53 degrees as we moved north to Tupelo.

We are staying overnight at Barnes Crossing RV Park. We stayed here once before with Carl & Linda parked next to us.

We arrived today just a few minutes before 2:00 PM and were all set up and sitting in the sunshine with a cold drink by 2:35.

We called Jennifer to let her know we are here and all set up.

Tomorrow we will head for Sikeston, MO and hope to arrive there by 2:00 PM. Sunday is our day to “Go Home” to Hannibal for awhile.

So, we are all set for tonight. Marilyn wants to have dinner at the Red Lobster tonight. I think I’ll give in! LOL
