If you are in the Santa Rosa area, do not miss the Santa Rosa Downtown Market. You can purchase fresh produce right from the farmers. We bought kale, avocados and fava beans and more. The market opened a couple of weeks ago for its 2012 season, they are celebrating their 24th year. We had to wait until 5:00 PM for the market to open.
It is like a huge street fair with a great collection of farmers and ranchers. They even have different bands weekly for entertainment. We have been to a lot of local markets, this was the best one we have ever seen.
They had everything from eggs, mushrooms, cheese, prepared foods, breads, fruit, plants for your garden, a huge variety of produce, poultry, meat and even fresh seafood. We had a great time talking to the locals and enjoyed it much. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
