An uneventful drive to Florida except for a major attack of stink bugs on our wind shield. When we stopped in the campground office to get our keys, we were greeted with cheers and applause as if we had returned from a war, rather than the beleaguered Carolinas. Folks here in Florida have plenty of experience with hurricanes and know how much heartache they can bring. The sun is out, the sky is blue and it is really, really hot and humid. We're glad that the A/C works fine in our rig and the executive suite on our new campsite, but can anticipate a ginormous electric bill if this heat keeps up.

This campground is where our motor home will remain until the end of March. We are here for three weeks before we fly to Europe, which will give us a chance to get to know our new piece of property with its executive suite, which sounds much more lah-di-dah than it really is. We hope that friends and family will be able to visit us and find it a nice place to stay. Because our motor home is so spacious and equipped with everything we need, we're not sure how much time we'll spend inside the suite. Time will tell.

We won't feel totally at peace until we hear that our family has made it through the Florence invasion. Fingers crossed.
