It was an easy three hour trip from Marianna, FL to Pensacola and the NAS Pensacola FamCamp. The sites here are a little small but nice - large, level concrete pads with full hook-ups. We had good cell phone reception and the satellite sighting wasn't too bad despite the trees.
We arrived about 1:30, started getting set up and then it started raining, and raining, and did I say it was raining. We were here two nights and had bad storms each night. Yesterday morning, just after we got up, the sirens went off and we had to go to the storm shelter as a tornado had been sighted. That lasted about 20 minutes but I had already made coffee and waiting with a cup of Joe wasn't all that bad. Later we went with Roger and Frances, who had driven over from Albany, GA, to the Naval Aviation Museum. They have really done a great job of showing everything you would ever want to know about Navy Aviation. It took about four hours to go through and we still didn't cover it all. I probably should have taken a few pictures but they wouldn't have done it justice.
This morning, we had no tornadoes but there was still a lot of lightning, wind and rain. We were still able to get the motorhome unhooked and road ready so that we could make the short trip over to Mobile. We plan on seeing the USS Alabama and Bellngrath Gardens
