Minneaota River.. Empties into the Mississippi a few miles from here

Good year blimp taking pictures for the US open

We have been back in the Metro of Minneapolis/St. Paul for quite some time now but we have been catching up with our families and don't want to bore you with that.

Most of the places that we have visited we have already talked about and gave you pictures so I haven't repeated it again.

This is a great time to be in Minnesota the past few weeks... I have talked about the beautiful farmland that makes Minnesota so nice tro drive through but even better than that is eating the crops... The raspberries were awesome but right now the farmers markets have fresh cukes, beets, carrots, tomato's, green beans, and at the top of my list is the sweet corn... Oh boy, is it ever good.. If you can tell me what is better then Golden Plump fried chicken with fresh corn on the cob, or maybe the bar-b-que ribs that Minnesota's own Hormel Plant puts out. As much as I love going out to eat, we have been eating at home for awhile now... The corn in the midwest is just wonderful.

We had some more friends that joined us for awhile at our campground. Bill Joyce and his wife Diane came for a couple of days and wound up here for a week... No it wasn't our hospitality that made them stay but ...... Diane fell while getting out of the shower and dislocated her shoulder. They got a taste of our emergency rooms and stayed until Diane could remove her cast...We had a nice time with them and look forward to their coming back for the follow up with her Doctor...

There is a lot of excitement going on in the area we are staying right now... The PGA is having the US Open not very far from where we are and it is fun to see all the action. Goodyear blimps and helicopters go overhead all day long.... We drove to Hazeltine yesterday to see what we could see but the tickets were already sold out and we couldn't even get in to watch the practice... Tickets are $450.00 each for the week and have been sold out for ages but you can usually get in for practice.... Not so when Tiger Woods is here...They have had record crowds just for the practice rounds... My favorite is Phil Michelson but that is just because I have followed him for so long... Tom Watson was my favorite for the British open so you know the crowd that I follow.

I will get back to you as soon as we have new things to tell you but until then, keep watching...

Later//////////////
