We are in the beautiful Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA. It reminds us so much of Germany, we feel like we are back in Europe.
We had wonderful German lunches at the Tumwater Restaurant Inn. The incredible dining room is decorated in lace and a Bavarian theme. There are framed apple labels, antique pruners and cycles showing their connection with their agricultural surroundings. They are located in the center of Washington in the middle of tons of orchards.
Jerry had the German, Bratwurst sausages served with lots of homemade kraut and a German potato pancake. I had the Schnitzel, a tenderloin fillet dipped in egg and bread crumbs, pan-fried and served with a German potato pancake and spiced red cabbage. Both were outstanding.
After lunch we did a bit of shopping. They have a huge selection of candy stores, bakeries, gift shops and much more. You can find many unusual items from Germany as well as a lot of local designs. It is a unique place to visit, we enjoyed our day much.
I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
We have very slow Sprint and no WiFi, I am adding a few pictures at a time and they are taking forever. I will add more when we get to our next stop. I am about ready to switch from Sprint to another service. :-)
