In a few weeks there will...

Mon, 24 Dec: We are spending Christmas eve boondocking at Quartzsite, AZ. We left RoVers Roost in Casa Grande about 0930 after topping off our propane tank, paying our electric bill, and getting good-bye hugs from our friends. We've said it before, and it remains true, the friendliest folks are at Escapees parks.

Carpe started up with no problems despite her lengthy hibernation. We had to wait for our rear jacks to retract as the cold weather wreaks havoc with the hydraulic system until it gets warmed up. Gotta put new springs on those rear jacks...

We headed west on I 8 to Gila Bend where we took AZ 85 north to I 10 near Buckeye. That way we missed driving thru downtown Phoenix. Another 80 miles west on I 10 brought us to Quartzsite, where we'll be spending the nite.

Tomorrow we'll continue west into California and, on Wednesday, complete our journey to Castaic where we'll plunk down for a week while attending the Rose Parade. We're signed up with an Escapees group that will water, feed, and transport us to and from the Rose Parade activities. We're scheduled to help decorate a float, watch the horses, bands, etc. We're looking forward to the week and will share our experiences on this Journal, so stay tuned.
