ADVENTURES IN OUR AMERICAN DREAM travel blog

Pull through site at Sierra Grand RV Park

We left the campground in Verdi this morning on our trip to Las Vegas. We were supposed to leave yesterday, we had a huge snow with at least 4 or 5 inches on the ground and low temperatures around 9 degrees, so we waited until this morning to leave. We stopped at the gas station to fill our diesel tank in the motorhome, Jerry could only get about a gallon of gas out, he went inside to tell them and they said the tanks were frozen. Yikes! This was definitely a first for us. Thank goodness we had half a tank of gas and could make it to our next stop and fuel up later.

We had an appointment in Reno at Nevada RV Diagnostics to have our wiring checked on the motorhome and car. We had problems with the wiring since we bought the newer Honda, the wiring was not compatible, it ended up taking five hours to correct the wiring and $500. Yikes again! We had expected it to take only about an hour to fix the five pin plug to six to fit, the problem was much worse, he found a wire box has burned out also. Anyway, we ended up spending the night in Reno at the Grand Sierra RV Park for one more day. We hope to be on the road tomorrow without any more problems. :-) Check back later for more from Nevada.
