Our first stop of the day was at one of the roadside trucks selling Gala apples and Bartlett pears. We saw so many of them on the trees in central Washington, but they were not ripe. Now we are seeing them everywhere. Jerry got five pounds of mixed apples and pears for only $4.00, they are awesome, fresh picked off the trees. It doesn't get any better than that. :-)
Our next stop of the day was Bear Lake County Park. Bear Lake is a 166-acre park located fifteen miles north of Spokane, in a rural setting near the city of Deer Park. The spring-fed lake has a surface area of approximately 35 acres. It is a very peaceful area and makes you want to sit and fish, but we didn't want to spend the money for a fishing license and then leave next week. I honestly think they should have fishing licenses for people who go state to state like us. It would be wondeful to buy one license that would be good in each state. Maybe one day!!
The park has 166 acres of park, play equipment, hiking trails, shelters, BBQ areas and swimming beach. We love finding these jewels along the way. We enjoyed this beautiful park much and recommend it to anyone in the area.
