We spent the day in beautiful Coeur d'Alene in the downtown waterfront area. They were having a boat show, but we got there too late to see much of it. The downtown waterfront offers a lot of entertainment, we are planning on taking one of the boat cruises later with a tour of the lake.
They also have seaplane rides over the lake; parasail rides high above the water, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboats and canoes for rent. The place was packed, I can certainly see why, it's absolutely beautiful.
We walked out on the floating boardwalk, it was built in 1986, it is over 3/4 of a mile long, it is known as the world's longest floating boardwalk. See photo for more information.
Afterwards, we drove through parts of downtown and around parts of the lake. The lake is huge, it spans 25 miles long, ranges from 1 to 3 miles wide and has over 109 miles of shoreline. It is about 200 feet deep in areas.
We can't wait to take one of the cruises and learn more about this fabulous lake. Check back later for more from Coeur d'Alene.
