Tim on Boat/Taxi - He Looks a Bit Red! Lots of Sun...

To Almirante/boat taxi(Chanquinola across border)...$1, then bus to David $7 (5 hrs) & bus to Boquete (1 1/2 hrs)...rain most of the way. Ck in at Hostel Mamallena, right nxt to the central park and just across from bus station - a good thing since it was pouring rain when we got off the bus. Dorms (4 beds), $11 ea, only one girl w/ us taking Spanish, from Australia.

Intending to get our act together but when Bon is ready, I am off doing something and visa versa so end of day, no plan as yet except since it rained off and on all day we did not go anywhere in town other than market. This is a nice, friendly hostel, open common area...our first do-it-yourself brkfst of pancakes and tea, hostel providing the ingredients we each do our own. Interesting.

We meet Anna & Bruno (France) also traveling down thru S.Am to tip for a year.

I watched Grand Torino and A Knights Tale plus talking to folks and internet. Fellow from Argentina made pizzas for anyone at $4 ea...very good, 20 + made and eaten while a group of 20 or so played poker. A good time had by all and it was not hot and humid (well, yes a bit), but w/o the heat it is tolerable. Mountains around about are mostly shrouded in rain clouds, so we see little of the surroundings for which Boquete is famous.
