Chilling Out with Daisy 2020 travel blog

Today, I reluctantly cancelled my trip to Alaska, which was scheduled to begin May 17. I decided that it would be wise for me to do so since the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and other medical groups are urging senior citizens to avoid ships, planes and other places where there are large groups of people. I wouldn't have any qualms about taking the trip if I were traveling in my RV. I'm glad that I had bought trip-cancellation insurance at the time I booked the trip. At that time I wasn't thinking about any particular reason to cancel; I just wanted that extra protection just in case something happened. My guardian angel must have been sitting on my shoulder that day. :>)

Getting my refund is a complicated matter. The cruise company will refund only half of the cost as a credit to my VISA card. For the remainder of the refund I’ll have to file a claim and who knows how long it will take for that to be completed? My travel agent will send me the claim number and instructions on how to complete the claim form.
