Thanks for stopping by! See you later :)

In the early '70's my hubby worked for Bell Telephone maintaining microwave stations in Southern Nevada. One of his favorites was Mormon Mesa. Every time we make a trip headed north on Interstate 15 out of Las Vegas we pass the turnoff for this station. We're usually in a hurry or it's too early or too late to take the 14 mile dirt/rock road up to the station. But, this morning we picked up my brother-in-law from the airport & gave him a lift to Mesquite. We headed back to Vegas around noon & today's schedule allowed for a visit of the microwave station.

Larry hadn't been up there for 45 years & boy, did it bring back some memories! It was a beautiful day with perfect temperatures in the mid 60's, a light breeze & there were plenty of white puffy clouds. Now that would have been really perfect, IF I had brought a camera along. I know, can you believe it???? NO camera :(

Well, we both had our phones but mine really doesn't take very good pics. It's been a couple of years since I purchased this Droid & when my renewal came due Larry got a new phone instead. So, I got what I got today, doing the best I could. It was really quite lovely although a very bumpy ride in many spots. As you might imagine, they aren't maintaining this road much anymore. Technology has changed & microwave stations are basically no more. It did appear that a private company is managing this station as it had a 'For Lease' sign on the fence surrounding it. Don't know what you would lease it for but it's available :)

We were hoping to see a bit of wildlife but didn't, other than a couple of bunny's. And no desert tortoises either. Apparently Larry used to have to dodge them on his way up the mountain. Still, we had a really nice afternoon & it was great having breakfast with Mom, sister Lori & niece KenAnn this morning. We'll see them all again in a couple of weeks but first we're making a quick run to California for my goddaughter Dannielle's wedding. We're also planning to spend time with Larry's cousin Patty & my sister Elaine. Looking forward to that. So, thanks for stopping by & we'll chat again soon :)
