Leaving MBC

The porters ready to go up to ABC

Going up from MBC

Going up, MBC in back

Almost there

Home sweet home

Yeah, we're going to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). We started hiking at 9 a.m. and went from 3700m to 4100 m. I got there at 10:45 a.m. Unfortunately the cloud were moving in and out, so sometimes I could see the peaks, and sometimes I couldn't. This seems to be a typical pattern, and the mornings are the most clear, so I'm hoping for a clear morning. Tonight I'm rooming with the Danes. There has been some drama going on with the group. Stephanie has been sick, and has resisted all efforts to stay at a low altitude. Gopal has not been very assertive about her staying lower, and now she's really sick. So Teresa has volunteer to do a short hike to ABC, then go down with Stephanie and a porter. That's why I'm rooming with the Danes tonight.

ABC is very busy. Alot of people dayhike up, and then go back down. Alot of people stay here. 3 Australians are here but forgot to make a reservation. They put a tent up for them inbetween the buildings. It snowed lightly at night, and was quite cold.
