Misty Fjords

Totem Bight Park

The Great Alaska Lumberjack Competition

Boyd with the Lumberjacks

Ketchikan was such a quaint little town! Again today, it was chilly, overcast, and a bit misty at times. The area is home to Totem Bight State Park where those interested can see quite a few totem poles and learn about the Native Alaskan Tribes that carved them and what they mean. Some in our group took a back country jet boat adventure, while others visited a remote beach. One couple went to Misty Fjords where tall cliffs dwarfed small sea planes and boats. Still others attended the Great Alaskan Lumberjack show where veteran lumberjacks showed off their skills in wood cutting, chopping, and log rolling. We counted no less that 5 cruise ships in port today! At one time, one was waiting for another one to leave so it could pull in. This was our last port of call, so we're all starting to have to think about packing up...but we still have one last day at sea!
