Well, it has happened. Today I received a letter from the property management company of Pecan Grove RV Park that my rent will increase by another 25% effective July 1. Travis County recently announced that commercial properties’ evaluations averaged a 37% increase, so this rent increase came as no surprise. According to the letter, Pecan Grove’s property taxes increased by 48%.
My rent is actually due on the 24th of the month, so I have a little over two months to decide what to do. I'd hate to leave Austin but, if I can’t find a more economical place to live, I’ll have to leave.
