To San Carlos 7:15-9, to SJ 9:45-Noon quick taxi to terminal for Puerto Viejo, lv at 2pm arr in dark...taxi to Cabinas El Tesoro where a Cabina is $20 US, sngl bed. Countryside: we pass many huge dairy farms - Holsteins and white brahmas - massive acres of grasslands, most all on rolling and steep hillsides once rainforest. Also, again seeing lots of property for sale! When we get to talk to the owner of Cabinas (been here for 12 yrs...wife came w/ but then divorced and married local) who does realestate (see pic of prices), he said he just updated his new monthly listing adding 56 new ones! Charlie, the owner, said lots of the expats from many different countries are putting prop on market for whatever reason (need $$$ I'd guess), and he is finding much interest among Costa Ricans from SJ. His estimate is that the next 6 mos the best deals will go before prices begin going up again. What used to be $300,000 two yrs ago at peak now going for $80-100,000!!! Quite a drop and I interpret this as a bad sign for US market as well since the expats here must be hurting for cash!
