Loved this cool cowboy in Buffalo ..

This one too...

Last one!

This will be out last update from Buffalo. We have enjoyed our visit much, including the 4 inches of snow. :-) Buffalo is located at the base of the picturesque Big Horn Mountains, it is a beautiful town and we will definitely make a return visit. Buffalo has much more to see, we wished we had more time to explore.

One of the outstanding places in town is the old Occidental Hotel. This historic building has been fully restored, it dates back to 1880. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid rode to the Occidental from their hideout at the nearby Hole-in-the-Wall. The famous cattle detective and killer, Tom Horn, was another frequent visitor. And legendary frontier sheriffs like Frank Canton and "Red" Angus were regulars at the bar.

Among those who enjoyed the hospitality of the Occidental in the early days were Buffalo Bill Cody, Teddy Roosevelt, and General Phil Sheridan. Calamity Jane, who drove freight wagons on the Bozeman Trail also stopped often and visited the hotel.

Other famous people who visited the hotel were President Theodore Roosevelt, President Herbert Hoover and Ernest Hemingway. We wished we had taken the tour of the inside, we will save that for the next visit.

We will be heading south in the morning to meet up with Jerry and Jared. Yippee!!! They are flying in to visit for a few days. We can hardly wait to see them. :-) Check back later for more from Wyoming.
