Val and I returned to Austin via a different route than the one we took on Thursday. We stopped in Fredericksburg at a large parking lot and then went downtown in my RV. Amazingly, I found a very convenient parking space on a side street just off Main Street.
We ate at a restaurant where neither of us had ever eaten before -- the Cultures Grill & Bar. They serve both German and Tex-Mex food. I had a chicken schnitzel, which was very good -- and large! I took more than half of it home.
We ran into a little construction but there were still two lanes of traffic so we didn’t have to stop, except for a few minutes at one section east of Fredericksburg. At the end of that section there were three Gillespie County Sheriff’s vehicles with their lights flashing. There wasn’t a wreck or other hazard, so I’m not sure what that was about.
