|A very windy morning as we left the park to go back into Toodyay. We had a look through some shops and purchased some bits and pieces as unfortunately the Gaol Museum was not open again because of lack of volunteers. We drove down to the park and arrived just as the little railway was starting. We all had a ride on Perch the diesel engine before the boys had a ride on Smokey the steam train. The mini railway crew have a great little set up with a train station and over a kilometre of track. While we were there having lunch, quite a number of people came for a ride (young and young at heart). We then drove the 80 kms to Perth through some lovely scenery - up and down the hills/mountains where we spotted the beautiful blue wild flower again. As we came over the last mountain we could clearly see the whole Perth area - the boys were really impressed by the view. With Mary reading the map, we found the caravan park quite easily - near the airport but you cant really hear the planes. Mary unfortunately sprained her ankle quite badly so we laboured around doing the cleaning/washing for the afternoon while we consulted the brochures and maps to identify a tourist course of action for the next few days. The boys found another boy that they met at Kalbarri and spent the afternoon in the pool and playing with young Sam.
