Slept till after 8 after our big day. Today we are headed to Fairbanks...our northern most RV spot! Right after breakfast Harry dropped Mom and I off in town to catch some of the end of the season sales at the gift shops. They will all be closing soon for the season. We found some great t-shirts, Christmas gifts and souvenirs. They guys met us with the RV and we were off to a place I found on a brochure that does fun "Eskimo" photos about 10 miles down the road. When we got close and we rechecked the address and it was mail only and we were right across from the place when the picked us up...sadness! With 45 feet of RV following us, we weren't going back and could not find them anywhere else. Maybe next time! Stopped for lunch at a place in Nenana called Monderosa known for their burgers. Harry's chicken teriyaki was good too. We made it to a nice campground in Fairbanks called River's Edge. We set up quick and went to Eielson AF Base to check on deals for local fun stuff. There was too much for us to do but we packed in as much as we could! We saw some cool looking camo F-16's there that they use for aggressors in training other aircraft. Next was a trip to North Pole, Alaska since it was right there. I added to my ornament addiction and talked to Santa. Harry did later when I was somewhere else in the store and was amazed Santa knew he was a Fedex pilot. (I said he is Santa after all)! Outside they had live reindeer to visit and many photo ops. It was already 8pm when we got home so we decided to check the resort restaurant where Harry and I tried the scallops, mom had salad, and dad personal pizza. All was quite good. Just enough for a late dinner.
