|Nasca is like any other desert oasis, however the discovery of the strange lines has made this a major tourist magnet.
Another long bus journey down was required to take us down to Nasca. We arrived in our nice hotel which was opposite the airstrip and organised a flight over the lines. We were in a 6 seater cessna and the pilot would bank to the left and to the right so that both sides could clearly see the lines. Stomachs were going up and down ! The lines were amazing. They were so clearly visible and we had not really anticipated that. We saw the astronaut which was carved in the mountain, the humming bird, the monkey, the condor, the spider and many more. It was definately worth the money (although the spirals that we paid extra to see were nothing special !).
Next day Barbara and Miki headed to Ica to do some sandboarding. We decided to take the lazy option and stayed around the pool before heading back up to Lima.
El Porton - One of the best garlic breads we have ever tasted ! (and free !) and the rest was excellent as well.
Nido del Condor - Good hotel, right next to the airstrip and it had a pool
